I know I have said, "I'm a drama geek." before, but I never felt like I was part of it.
The only times I felt truly part of the drama department was during Seussical in 8th grade and UTA in 9th grade. I had friends and we were just having fun. I wasn't left out and I had a great time. I got to be part of a show and I got to learn fun new things with great people. But it was only during Seussical and UTA I felt like I was part of it.
Every other time I was just some stupid techie that no one ever thanked. During Joseph, Parker and Jacob were the only ones, but it was expected since I did their make-up. Every other time though I wasn't appreciated or I was bullied by the drama kids. The worst was when I was stage manager for Bye Bye Birdie. We were trying new things (punishments and rewards) for the cast to stop talking. But with each new thing that was tried I was glared at with a hateful look and only one person ever said thank you. This person was just a sevie in the cast who was actually grateful that I was helping out. She was the only one who said thank you without being asked and said it every day. She was the reason I didn't completely hate the show. She is possibly one of the only drama kids that was always nice to me. I really appreciated her.
I know that some of you who read this will think I'm crazy and I don't know what I'm saying, but I do. I'm not an idiot and I know when people are rude to me. I know when I'm not appreciated and people wished I wasn't there. And the worst part of it is that the people who were rudest used to be some of my closest friends.
That's all I have to say and I'm really looking forward to UCAS.
